Kodak stumbles into the lead in the crappy digital camera market
Hmm. Let me see…
Kodak sells low-end crappy cameras. Kodak does not make digital cameras. Kodak just buys their crappy OEM cameras from 3rd world countries who seem to go out of their way to produce especially crappy quality to get back at Kodak treating them like crap. Unlike Kodak crap, Japanese companies still 80% control over of the PROFITABLE end of the quality US digital camera market—all the while, Kodak losses money selling increasing volumes of crap that does not make money. Then again what do I know? Through inhertance, I’ve been a stockholder in Krapdak for years.
Oh crap. Did I remember to mention that Kodak is crap?
Kodak seizes U.S. digital camera lead
ROCHESTER, New York Kodak surged ahead of the perennial front-runner Sony in U.S. digital camera shipments in 2004 – an important achievement by the American picture-taking pioneer as the digital revolution rapidly erodes its profit from film.
Kodak shipped 4.88 million point-and-shoot digital cameras to U.S. retailers last year – 66 percent more than in 2003 – and its market share jumped to 21.9 percent from 17.9 percent…..
