Japanese Spring Sports Day, March 19/20/21
Throughout Japan, communities and schools host field days called “undou-kai” every fall and spring. During the March 21st “Spring Equinox” national holiday, many schools will host undou-kai for students during the 3-day weekend. The whole family and relatives will get together to cheer for their children in running races, tug-of-war and other competitions.
