Boycott NHK! 700,000 public TV subscribers wise up
NHK’s woes are neverending…and for good reason.
Like the BBC in Great Britain, Japan’s public broadcaster NHK TV changes “manditory” fees of everyone with a TV in Japan. They go door to door to collect.
However, there have been a neverending stream of stories about fraud, waste and corruption of NHK fees in the past year. In addition, the conversion to digital broadcasting is resulting in NHK now extorting additional monthly fees for each household of 1,395 yen ($13) plus 2,340 for NHK “BS†satelite without providing value for that money.
I’ll be damned if I pay NHK now —and I have not paid them for my 20+ years in Japan.
Botton Line:
JUST SAY NO since NHK does not have a way to force people to pay with fines or arrest.
