Eat gay whales for Amaterasu, Buddha, et al
Eating whale is part of Japanese “traditional culture”, su-u-re. Ok. The Japanese want to be considered a primative aboriginal people needing subsistence food. Ok. Let ‘em use traditional leaky Japanese oar boats and hand harpoons.
Japan vows to battle anti-whaling ‘imperialism’
TOKYO (AFP) – Japan is ready to battle “fanatic” anti-whaling nations at an upcoming international meeting and could stage a walk-out, believing the hunt is an inseparable part of its culture…. a struggle against what it sees as “imperialism” — particularly by Australia, which lies near whaling waters.
…Australia’s environment minister has dismissed as absurd and obscene Japan’s argument that there is scientific value to its annual whale cull.
Hint: Most Japanese today have never ate whale and don’t plan on it. In the past only a few coastal villages ever hunted whale (traditionally, Japanese boats were never fast or far reaching).
