enon(tm) ‘an exciting nova on network’ Huh?
Fujitsu Begins Limited Sales of Service Robot “enon” For Task Support in Offices and Commercial Establishments
TOKYO—…Fujitsu Frontech will begin limited sales of their new service robot, enon(TM), on a limited basis in Japan from September 13, 2005…. enon is an advanced practical-use service robot that can assist in such tasks as providing guidance, escorting guests, transporting objects, and security patrolling….
…enon is an acronym of the phrase “exciting nova on network.” The phrase conveys the robot’s ability to autonomously support customers’ tasks while being linked to a network….
Arrrrrg. Every Japanese company makes trade names and thinks that they are acronyms. Nope. The product name enon(tm) this just a fuckqued-up, bogus, engrishy, failed attempt at an acronym which doesn’t stand for anything, or cannot be officially expanded to some meaning from the initial letter or letters of words (ie, NATO or UN). What in the flying-spagetti-monster does “nova” have to do with anything with this robot? Arrrg.
