SURF’S UP! Northern Japan hit by tsunami and magnitude 6.9 quake

Yesterday I made a tsunami post on the FG forum—I got slagged because tsunami warnings are “not news” so I didn’t post it here. Meh.
Today I woke to hear that northern Japan is having an “magnitude 6.9 event”. It has been droning on the NHK News all morning. No fun—the tallest “wave” was 50cm, but most were only knee-high at 30-10cm. No injuries have been reported.
