World Cup Soccer On Yahoo! News Photos
Yahoo! News Photos—Japan Rugby Football Union (JRFU) President Yoshiro Mori, seen here in 1998, said the International Rugby Board’s decision to award the 2011 Rugby World Cup to New Zealand instead of Japan was ‘a setback for the globalization of the sport’.
According Mr. “Sportsmanship” Mori, this was “a setback for the globalization of the sport.” Sheesh.
Mori is a former prime minister who was on the rugby team of Waseda University—a Japan “Ivy League” school that normally has the top-ranked rugby team. He was tapped by the LDP to enter the Diet because he physically was best able to win the shoving matches that occur in Japan’s parliment. He’s famous for his bonehead jock statements; see the BBC’s report, Mori: Gaffe-prone leader.
