Japanese MP3 player for less the $8.50
Cheap and Simple Portable MP3 Player from Evergreen
AkibaLive: Evergreen (Japan) released its DN-2000 Black, portable MP3 player on April 7th. The player has no built-in memory, but has an SD card slot so the user can select how much memory to put into it, which is why it’s only going for 999 yen….more….
There’s two important points here:
1) It’s only 999 yen = $8.42 USD for an MP3 player.
2) Everybody in Japan has spare SD cards from their cell phones and cameras laying around that they can put to use in this device.

Update: Thanks to our reader Mike, here’s the online store
