Japan’s babe shortage and exodus
It all boils down to demographics.
Japan’s negative population growth combined with highest ranked life expectancy will create economic havoc by the year 2020 when there will be more retired people in Japan than people in the workforce.
Two additional Japanese statistics I saw today are exciting:
- The number of Japanese living overseas surpasses 1 milion for the first time.
- There’s an imbalance in the sex distribution, with 105.3 boys for every 100 girls—Japan needs babes! �

I don’t think there is any real shortage because from these 105 men, 90 are otaku and/or akiba-kei, which leaves 15 men for every 100 women :)
