Mr Spotted Pattern
YouTube video - “Mame shibori no otoko”
Mame shibori means “spotted pattern” and this is Mr Spotted Pattern, hee, hee.
UPDATE: Sorry, YouTube Japan is removing most of the videos coming from broadcast TV now. Watch this one featuring fundoshi/loincoth clothes instead.
Update: D’oh! Renfield-san just reminded me about the joke here in the silly Japanese TV show. Mame shibori means both ’spotted pattern’ (see examples), and literally mame shibori means ‘bean squeezing.” Mr Spotted Pattern looks rather pathetic in terms his “beans.”
At ancient times, some Japanese say that the fabric pattern mame shibori was created by squeezing tie-dye on soybeans bundled on cloth. That’s just a folk etymology myth. Actually, mame shibori uses stitching and clamps tie-dyes to create the “look” of tie-dyed beans on cloth. Learn more about the process at Shibori.org.
Getting back to the video… Mame shibori (豆絞り/ まめしぼり) is typically used as a traditional Japanese fundoshi/loincoth cloth as worn by the guy in the video “Mame shibori no otoko”.

D’oh! That explains the joke: it means both bean squeezing and spotted pattern.
