All Your Soylent Green are Belong to Us

ROBO-Q is a rescue robot used by the Tokyo Fire Department. This cute little human consuming robot is designed to collect humans from environments dangerous to firefighters as described in more detail here. The entire line-up of rescue robots is shown here in the Introduction to Tokyo Fire Department’s Robots.
And in case you were wondering about the name ROBO-Q, the official designation is “R” for rescue and “Q” for conveyance (but don’t tell the Japanese that there’s no “Q” in conveyance).

no matter how i look at this… it never fails to make me laugh.. how is it going to save humans when the fire is located in an apartment… and just being picked up seems like a tramatizing experience..
