‘Otakuology’ - the psychology of the Japanese “Maid” fad explained
I get a lot a strange contacts via the internet. Today I received several mixi footprints/trackbacks from a very interesting young lady, Shoko Nakagawa (中川翔子). “Professor” Nakagawa is an expert “Otakuologist”—-an otaku/geek specialist featured on Japanese TV.
Please enjoy this YouTube of Nakagawa sensei’s “Shokotan’s Private ‘Otakuology’ Lesson (part 3),” which is fully subtitled in English with scholarly footnotes. It’s a true insight into Japanese “maids” and and the otaku mindset. All the current Japanese psychological topics a fully explained by our learned Otakuologist Nakagawa: maids, ojousama, moe, etc.
“Shokotan’s Private Lesson” is a full crash course in the mind of the real Japan that’s 10 times better than the crap taught in regular Asian Studies courses in Western universities. Be sure to view all the lessons for a complete education.

UPDATE: Welcome all you otaku from kotaku.com. Just to make you guys jealous, the Nakagawa-sensei sent me a thank you note yesterday and added me to her mixi friends list (fewer than 50 people). Eat your hearts out.

She’s a famous japanese blogger, particularly famous for photographs of her swallowing cats.

Hey, I remember those photographs of her swallowing cats from last November. Nakagawa is a very common name and the first name “Shoko” is damn rare (could not read it when I first found this). I never put it all together.
Thanks, Rad-san.
