KAMIKAZE WHALES!
Well, it’s that time a year again. About this time last year, I reported about: Japanese jet ferry wacks whale, 11 passengers injured.
SLAMO! Those kamaikaze whales are at it again.
Japan-S. Korea ferry hits object, possibly whale, woman killed
Friday April 13, 11:30 AM, Kyodo— A South Korean woman died and 99 others injured when a high-speed ferry carrying about 200 people from the southwestern Japan port of Hakata to the South Korean port of Busan collided with an unidentified floating object, possibly a whale, Thursday evening, South Korean maritime police said Friday…..
My friend, “gboothe,” a former military intelligence operative quipped that the Japanese ferry, “probably sunk the entire North Korean submarine force without a shot!”
A more likely reason for these collisions is that spring is the time when humpback whales travel north through the Japan/East Sea and their summer feeding grounds in the Arctic. Whales traveling with calves more slowly and they may have trouble avoiding collision with such high-speed hydrofoil ships.
