The could-have-been Korean ‘hero’ gunman of Virginia Tech

I first saw this post of praise for the Korean “hero” gunman of Virginia Tech by a Japanese-Korean, Ms Izanami, a few days ago.1 I was taken aback by the gist of the meaning in Japanese:
The Korean gunman should have done his rampage in a Japanese university to be a real hero. would-be Korean hero gunman of Virginia Tech in Japan

Her diatribe has been removed by her Internet provider, but here is a screenshot and full translation.

I feel regrets about the shooting rampage at Virginia Tech.

If a Korean student did this massacre in a Japanese university, he would be a hero.

He would have been a hero in Korea forever like An Jung-geun who shot Ito Hirobumi to death.2

Japan stole one million Korean lives by colonization, aggressive war and military sex slavery.

Compared to the Sins committed by Japan, shooting to death of thirty or so persons is a small act.

If this shooting rampage had happened in Japan, the Korean student would be totally accepted as a hero in Korea, and his suicide would have been needless.

Condolences as I pray him for his happiness in the next world for he failed to become a hero in ours.

1This rant was mirrored on Japan’s largest online forum, “2channel”.

2 Reference: A Korean anti-Japanese activist named An Jung-geun shot Ito Hirobumi, the Japanese dictator/Resident-General of Korea, four times Prime Minister of Japan (the 1st, 5th, 7th and 10th).

Well that was was Seung-Hui Cho’s problem—nobody liked him. Miss Izanami, author of pro-Korean killer rant
However, the author of the post of praise for the Korean gunman is not a “guy,” but a young Japanese-Korean woman, Ms. Izanami as you can see in her picture on the right (Made the same mistake and thought that the first linked picture was an gender-confused guy too.) However, she is a new SCHOOLTEACHER here in Japan and her webpage says that she is right now too busy with her first days on her new job at school to write answers to her critics:
“My teacher life starts in April, it is busy for me, so my blog’s updating tends to be overdue.”

  3. Ryuhei Says:

    Oh, yes, you´re right. Sorry.
Anyway, what she says is very, very sad.

At dinner last night at my house, several of the Japanese guests said that the young woman author was was a new-hired teacher in one of many North Korean private high schools here in Japan. They joked she will be promoted very quickly and will receive commendations from North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. Sheesh.
