Larger-than-life Gundam laying down on the job
Early this week I saw a news report in Japanese on Kyodo Press website about a new, life-size Gundam being displayed at Fujikyu Highland amusement park, which is one and half hours west of Tokyo. However, as you can see, the small photo on the left that the Kyodo Press posted did not look like much of anything. The Kyodo said1 it was “30 meters tall” and from the camera angle of the photo it is hard to figure out what was being depicted.
Luckily a few days later, my friend “Ultragaijin” found many larger images and full Japanese report of the new “Gundam Crisis” attraction at Fujikyu.
Along with these larger photos, the report says that Gundam is not 30 meters ‘tall’, but rather 18 meters (60 feet) and laying down on the job.

However, the official specs of the RX-75 Guntank lists it as only 15.6 meters, so Fujikyu Highland is boosting a bit. Of course, Gundam always tells the girls it is, “30 meters when erect” ha, ha.
*Note: Be sure to pay close attention to the rare view shown the photo of Gundam torso’s dual-ball, base-mounted cannon—the secret prototype of the “large mega PLEASURE particle gun x1.”
