Harajuku girls
Here are some Harajuku Girls on flickr, that are rather mistakenly labeled “Harajuku Girls are the New Geisha’s” [sic]. Of course, real geisha (literally gei = “art” sha = “person”) study their art for at least a decade and Harajuku girls perhaps have “studied” their art for a few months before coming out.
However, these photos are remarkable—even to me, a guy who has worked in Harajuku and visited Harajuku Sundays for “su ju nen” (some tens of years).
Enjoy the flickr slideshow….

I agree - they look more “interesting” (not to say beautiful) on these pictures than in person ;)

One of details about the Sunday Harajuku Girls that seldomly is mentioned is that many of the dressed up girls are less than beautiful and the cosplay bridge is the only venue in Japan that they receive any attention at all.
None of the the girls I’ve talked to answered that they had boyfriends …..except the transvestite boys like in this photo of me and crossdressing “ninja girl”, ha, ha.
