Skype web-phoning for the PSP…sort of
Yesterday the tech news was all buzzing the Sony adding the calls-for-free Skype web-phone functionality for the PSP. Sony’s press release gushed: “Call friends, talk trash to fellow gamers or catch up with acquaintances via Skype for PSP.” Hmmm, wonder what the rest-of-the-story is?

Gotcha! The rest-of-the-story according to Fragland.net is that, “it will only be work for the new PSP Slim.” The majority of the owners of older PSPs won’t be able to use Skype. Basically this was just Sony’s way to boost interest in their “Go!Messenger” video chat and IM tool targeting European PSP owners later this month, and not free cellphone-like calls for people. Meh.
