Struggling Idol
You are in Akihabara and see what appears to be a struggling idol selling her DVD for only 480 yen where the average price is 4,800 yen. She looks up at you and gives you the watery eye puppy look. What do you do? ...more

Footnote:
“Idol”, or aidoru japanese-idol from wikipedia in Japanese, are disposable media personalities in their teens and early twenties who are considered particularly cute and pretty. For more info about Japanese-style idols, refer to Wikipedia as well as 3Yen report on these life-size cardboard cutouts of idols.

The idol’s name is Goto Saori and you can check out her squeaking (”singing”) songs from her DVD at:

The idols are out peddling their purulent wares and now the Japanese mob is having trouble …

    Even the Yakuza is retrenched
TOKYO, April 20, 2009 (AFP) – They made their money with sex, drugs and gambling but then invested much of it in high finance. Now Japan's yakuza have their back to the wall as the economic crisis takes aim.
Just like the legitimate businesses they have muscled into, Japan's mafia are being squeezed by the steepest economic downturn in decades, and as profits have plunged, management has been thinning out the ranks. ...more..

Certainly you are willing to “help” her in her time of need.evil smile

Actually the photo here is of the star of “Kana Box” is Kana Moriyama, and the photo on dannychoo.com is Saori Goto.

“Kana Box” (which does not show any “box”) was relatively a big hit on Amazon Japan.

This must be a publicity stunt since Kana-chan WAS a big star for the past few years.

  7. XXX kun Says:

Wait! I thought Akihabara just banned street performers because of P.T.A. complaints that female “performers” were exposing themselves.

  8. Taro Says:

    Nah, nothing is banned.

Starting April, Tokyo issued a city-wide “guideline” with a provision that asks people to “refrain from making street performances that could disturb public order,” but there are no penalties for noncompliance. See:

you mean that girl in the school girl costume who looks OK is Kana from that DVD? DAMN! That’s a total make over , wonder if the difference was the makeup or all the lollipops she had to lick to get there?! I’d sure her help out~! Got a nice lollipop too…!

  10. Kelliente Says:

Sad. Exposing yourself to cameras for money is one thing, but having to stand out on the street hawking DVD’s of it (even if it is another girl) is just humiliating. I feel bad for her

There are a LOT of creepy old guys in Akiba too.

I was walking with a friend once and noticed this Goth Loli maid who was practically RUNNING down the street she was walking so fast. She was being stalked about 30 yards back by a middle aged skeev. She got to her shop, ducked inside, and quickly pulled down the security door. We decided he could use a little of his own medicine. We went up to him, wagged our fingers & said “That’s bad. Don’t do that,” then followed HIM around for a while and freaked him out.

  11. Taro Says:

    ROFL!
You probably scared that prevy oji-san for life…especially if you addressed him in English.
Chewing out people in Japanese results in sounding cute and adorable to their ears no matter how rude the meaning of the Japanese words you use.
    Basically, engRish is scary.

  12. mike Says:

i’d rape this fucking gook..fuck the shit out of her
