Touch Wood. What a great name. And just think, the general public here will be unaware of what that means.

Since DoCoMo doesn’t export its mobile phones so they think it ok to have an obscene product name. In addition, 15% of Japanese public will understand the joke and enjoy it as much DoCoMo’s upper-management (who are required to read English for promotion).

High Touch
High Touch is a term coined by John Naisbitt, from the second chapter in his book “Megatrends”. It refers to having to deal with or interact with a human being as opposed to having to deal with computers (i.e. High Tech) and that High Touch will continue to remain a vital component of the High Tech age. Naisbitt pointed out the fallacy of automating every business transaction without human interaction at some point. There is no substitute for “the personal touch.”
