Save energy—Drive damnit!

Shortages of electrical power in Japan due to the triple meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear power plants has inspired Nissan’s new advertising campaign extolling Japanese to drive more at night to ”conserve energy.” head-spin

nissan night drive
“Drive after 7pm to save power,” instructs Professor Yol Drusky.*

fake fat professor Since July 4 Japanese TV commercials featuring
← Professor Yol Drusky* have flooded the airwaves urging Japanese young people (who increasingly are fun-loving otaku wankers and hikikomori social isolates) to get out of their rooms and to go out on driving dates in the evening to “save” electricity.

All in all, I gotta say that Professor Yol Drusky is mo’ betta than McDonalds Japan’s ‘Mr. James’ (3Yen.com/2009-08-19).

*The phony fat professor’s name “Yol Drusky”
is a mangled mashup of the words
Yoru-Dora-Suki
, which literally
means Night-Drive-Love.

  1. I love this dork, Professor Yul and his fun etsuden (saving electricity) nonlogic.

BTW…Do you have facebook fanpage for your 3Yen site?

  2. Oh yeah! The pure pleasure of driving and watching TV in JLand traffic jams. Last year during Golden week it took us about four (4) hours to drive from Tokyo to Atami aka: “Shibuya on the beach.” And how many times before that? Unreal. Also you know that you have been in Japan for too long when you start to actually enjoy sitting in traffic for hours on end. (*_*)

  3. Wow! Just four hours in the Highway Parking Lot? things are getting betta! Back in the last century before the bubble bursting, when peepo had mo money, 8-10 hours was typical….just goes to show you with the right social engineering, you too, can help lighten up Tokyo with more cars on the road at night once again..brilliant use of so many headlights…
