Japan nuke meltdown: ‘Fukushima = 29.6 Hiroshima Nuclear Bombs’

My buddy over on the TOKYODV Video Log just posted the above video on Japanese criminal negligence on Fukushima Meltdown. The video features Professor Tatsuhiko Kodama, the head of the Radioisotope Center at the University of Tokyo (Japan’s “Harvard”) livid with anger addressing the National Diet on July 27th as he exposes the continuing fraud of both TEPCO’s and the government’s failure to estimate the total amount of radiation released from Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant. The Professor’s key points are:

  • Based on thermal output, Fukushima is 29.6 times the amount released by the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima.
  • Based on uranium equivalent, Fukushima is 20 Hiroshima bombs.
  • The radiation from a nuclear bomb will decrease by one-thousandth.
  • The radiation from a nuclear power plant will only decrease by one-tenth.

  1. What you’re saying is completely true. I know that everybody in Japan Inc. must say the same thing, but I just think that you posted the Truth. The Japanese Diet is a freak show of criminals—It’s great to see the Professor give ‘em the hell they fuckin’ deserve.

  2. Like radiation, debt is colorless and odorless, invisible and toxic. It exists only in digital form in the server farms of data centers in half-remembered suburbs, but it can’t be willed out of this existence by a collective wish.
