McDonald's Japan has always amazed me with their success in a place as damn fussy about food as Japan is. I find Japanese fare rather boring compared to Chinese and other Asian cuisines, but the Japanese waste a good part of their day contemplating their next Japanese meal. With so much psychological/personal investment in their own food, it’s hard to understand how MacD’s fast food has gained so much traction in Japan (5% market share). Perhaps, now the Japanese are wising up as evidenced by this decine of 8.2% on year.
