Mystery No. 1099 of Japan — beer

One of the many Mysteries of Japan is beer—That is, boring varieties rice-laced, faux pilsner pisswater are preferred here.
Japanese beer brands have copied the bland approach of American brands so well that best sellers like Budweiser and Coors have not gained much market share or visibility in Japan. Last night on my way out of Tokyo’s Shibuya. I was rather surprised to bump into this hanging ad. (My head hits all the ads if I don’t duck.)

“Whoa—wait a damn minute—since when does Bud come in silver cans in Japan?”

Checking the Budweiser Japan website (see below*), it’s obvious: Budweiser, Coors, etc. all come out of the same vat of cloned pale yellow pee.
