Great Japanese Lay

Japan's gymnast Rie* Tanaka was showing her stuff at the London Olympic Games yesterday.

*The Japanese girl’s name “Rei” is pronounced ‘lay’.

—I’ve had several amusingly fun introductions in Japan when a very cute girls have said to me, “Hello, my name is Lay.” Conversely, my kooky crossdressing buddy, Ray, didn’t need to take on a female stage name when he was hanging out kink bars in Tokyo’s Shinjuku 2-chome since Ray is pronounced the same as “Rei.” (Oops.)

   “Rie” and “Rei” are not the same. But no worries; there are programs for dyslexia. :-)
