straitstimes.com | Aug. 30, 2012
They set hearts aflutter when they appeared nude (from behind) on the cover of their first mini-album Unreal. But to see Japanese pop-rock band flumpool bare their souls, you would have to hear them live…more…
What’s Flumpool?

Musically, as the clip above shows, Flumpool are crushingly banal. Their ultra-formulaic songs sound as if they've been written by a machine, and completely exemplify the super-conformist “aggressive normality” which characterises so much of Japan...more…
As you see in band’s engrish interview in the Straits Times video above, their name Flumpool, a combination oif ‘four’ + ‘lump’ + ‘pool’, is nearly impossible for the Japanese group to pronounce.

How about a name that doesn’t sound so ugly as Flumpool? Here a few better anagrams for “four”, “lump” and “pool” such as…
Four Mull Poop
Flu Lo Rum Poop
Poof Mull Pour
Full Moo Pro Up
Fur Pull Moo Op
Fur Loom Lo Pup
Fur Lo Pulp Moo

So…flumpool = four lump pool?
……WTF does four lump pool mean?

The flumpool name taken from the letter “F” from the word “four” (the number of members), added to “lump” (with an intended meaning of “mass”) and the word “pool” (with an intended meaning of 合弁 joint management, pooled effort).
In other words, a ‘collective mass of four” better known as a “quartet.”
