In all the press reports of the past few weeks like the one from WIRED.com above, theToilet Bike Neo was described as being “debuted” when it was already unveiled last October. Strange.
However, none of the recent news reports seemed to notice that in this static promotional photo of the “Neo” the rider was wearing poop protection—a helmet with cute white poo on top or that the toilet bike featured Sasquatch-size toilet paper.

Waaaay back in October of 2011, Toto took the Toilet Bike Neo out on its first promotional tour of 1,500 km that crisscrossed Japan—This month’s press barrage is hardly the “debut” that the recent news reports claim.

The Japanese toilet maker TOTO created “Toilet Bike Neo”, which moves with BIO-GAS converted by human poop. The bike travels around Japan and promoting their environmental action “TOTO GREEN CHALLENGE”.
