Hey, you forgot to mention why St. Patrick’s Day is so big here in Nippon.

Japan’s OG—original gaijin/alien—was Patrick Lafcadio Hearn, the Wapanese-Weeaboo-freakazoid extraordinaire who originally came from Ireland.
Please insert my photo, ok?

Christmas, St. Valentines Day, Halloween, and now St. Paddy’s day.
All celebrated in Japan without a clue.
Not that I really mind, but when d’ya suppose the Japanese will pick up on Easter?
(Think of the profits to be had from chocolate bunnies!)

My theory is that Easter hasn’t been picked up here in Japan because the dates vary wildly from year to year. The market (which can be created) for giri ovulating chocolate bunnies must be huge.

But, but…the Japanese got the “clue” about getting drunk for those holidays.
