The straw wrapping is done to protect the palm trees from the cold and insect infestations during the late fall and winter. It takes four workers an entire week to complete the job.

  1. Reminds me of the first time I went to the Matsuya Department Store. I bought a couple boxes of LV condoms. The cute staff girl behind the counter giggled to herself and asked me “Are you sure that this size will fit?” To which I did not know. And then, nodding towards the dressing rooms “Do you want to test one here with me before you purchase?” O_O
